Monday 18th June - Egypt - Cairo (Day 8)
Our final day in Cairo. We wouldnt recommend spending 8 days in Cairo. For us it was a necessity because we had so many things that needed to be sorted out visas, shopping for essentials for our onward trip, getting the car serviced and these things were done very easily in Cairo. If you dont have a to-do list, then 2 or 3 days is enough of the big, smoky city.

Today we set off for the Pyramids again this time with Uncle Willie and with both girls feeling well. Andrew bargained for a 1-hour carriage trip. He definitely drives the hardest bargain of the 3 of us. Willie and I just step back when some tough negotiating is required and let him battle it out, usually with very impressive results. Im sure this is a skill he learnt from his mother!

The carriage trip was good, especially for the girls Naomi fell asleep for the last 15 minutes or so. We enjoyed spending more time at the Pyramids and getting right round them.

Theres a Pizza Hut down from the pyramids, so we stopped there and had lunch. Willie is amused by how many fast food outlets we have visited in Cairo, as were not usually fans of fast food. In the last week weve had McDonalds, Pizza Hut, KFCs, Hardees Jamie Oliver wouldnt approve. There are a few reasons to visit fast-food restaurants (and food isnt one of them) they are relatively clean, their toilets are usually good and they often have play areas.
