We went to Fregene today and had a day at the beach. Tarquinias beach was quite nice but Fregenes beach is fantastic. Golden sand, big playparks, very clean. It being a Saturday and Fregene being only 20 km from Rome, there were more people on the beach today, but it was still very quiet. We rented a couple of sunloungers and had a very relaxing time. We even found a soft play area, much to the girls excitement.
A travel tip for all you northern Europeans Fregene slightly off-season, when its too cold for the Italians, but lovely and warm for us.
We left Fregene and headed for Rome. Getting on to the ring road was a bit difficult, but we made it to Tiber campsite in Flaminio, northern Rome. Great campsite, with lots of space for the girls to run around. The only problem with these campsites is that the outdoor pools arent open yet the weathers not considered hot enough yet. If Stonehaven pool operated such stringent temperature standards before opening it would always be closed.
