|Tuesday 30th October - South Africa - Cape Town (Day 12)
This morning we woke to bright, clear, sunny skies and so we went straight to the cable car to go up Table Mountain. The cable car opens at 8am and we were there very soon after it opened. We parked about 50 yards from the cable car, got our tickets, waited for 5 minutes and got onto a cable car to go up the mountain. The views were beautiful.
At the top we had our breakfast and then walked around taking in the panorama from different angles. We went back down in the cable car at about 11am. By this time there were queues of people stretched out along the road and there were hundreds of cars parked. We reckoned it would take a good couple of hours to get through that length of queue. We were so glad to have got up early.
In the afternoon we had a quiet time around the cottage, swimming in the pool and in the sea and soaking up the heat and sun. In the evening Andrew took Mum, Dad, Hughie and Mary to the airport as their flight leaves around midnight tonight. We dont leave until tomorrow evening and so we have one final day of holiday left here.
