|Friday 24th August - Tanzania - Dar es Salaam (Day 2)
Alasdair, Keziah, Naomi and I spent a very pleasant, lazy day around Mikadi Beach today. The girls spent hours in the swimming pool, played with their buckets and spades on the shore, climbed on top of Corinna (theyre getting quite familiar with our German friends) and ran all over the cushions in the bar area (just as well theres a relaxed atmosphere about the place).
Meanwhile Andrew and Joerg spent a quite unpleasant day traipsing round Dar es Salaam looking for car parts. Our car needs new rear shock absorbers and a new windscreen. Between Nairobi and here the windscreen was chipped by a stone and then gradually cracked. Also, over the same stretch of road the shock absorbers finally gave up. Joergs car needs new tyres and brakes. They set off this morning on their search and only returned at about 6pm. They managed to source some things but it was a frustrating day for them.
