Thursday 9th August - Kenya - Voi
For our final morning at Kusini cottages we played on the beach, swam in the pool, lay in the sun, ate fresh lobster for lunch, said our farewells to the friendly staff and left. Despite a wrong turning en-route to the airport, we dropped Jane off in OK time for her flight. Keziah got over her trembling-lip moment with the promise of a little treat at the airport cafe.

Driving out of Mombasa took some time. There were a couple of sections of road where we took advantage of the Landcruisers 4WD, veering off the road and going cross-country for a bit to bypass big queues of stationary traffic. After that the road became much clearer and faster and we made good progress to Voi, arriving there at about 6ish.

We booked in to the Red Elephant Lodge again. It feels strange to be back here without Jane. Last time we were here the lodge was full of tourists. This time we are the only people here, so it feels like a ghost-town.
